DCAS April 29, 2011

The third grade reading and math DCAS testing days are May 12, 13, 16, 17, and 18. Our students are the smartest students in the state and we want them to shine on our testing days! Please read the following tips to make sure your child is ready to give 110% on the test:
1. Go to bed early and get plenty of sleep.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast.
3. Wear comfortable clothes.
4. Be at school on time. Our special schedule changes during these testing days. Special is from 8:45-9:30.
Our third grade students are smart and talented. Remind your child to relax and stay focused. They can do this and they will be awesome! If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher. Thank you for your continued support and for helping to make Wilbur Elementary the best school in Delaware!

This year is moving along and we are happy to announce that on Thursday, March 24th we will once again have our Mathmania Day! Students enjoy this day, they are able to participate in interactive math activities throughout the day.
A Few Updates October 3, 2010

Math night has been postponed to this Thursday October 7th at 6:00. Please come to learn more about our math curriculum and get fun tips you can use at home to encourage your child’s math skills.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be October 12-15. The students have a 12:42 dismissal on conference days. Please make sure you arrange a time to meet with your child’s teacher.
Individual Picture Day is October 7. Please return your picture forms whether or not you are buying pictures.
Our first Book Fair will be October 11-15. Students will have the opportunity to buy books during their scheduled library time. Please send any money to school in a labelled envelope.

We miss our students from last year and we wish them continued success in 4th grade. We know they will do a fantastic job! We are excited to meet our new third grade students and begin another inspiring year of learning together! Our Wilbur family is always growing and changing and here are some updates we would like to share with you!

Literacy Night August 30, 2010

We wanted to remind you that Literacy Night is this Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 6:00. Please join us to learn about techniques you can use at home to help your child become a successful reader. Students are welcome to attend with you.
There is no school this Friday, Sept. 3rd or Monday, Sept. 6th. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

We enjoyed meeting all of our new students and parents. We know this will be a year full of academic success and acheivement! It was also wonderful to see our past students and wish them luck on their first day of school. Thank you for your continued support! We know that this is going to be a great year at Wilbur!

Hello and Welcome to 3rd Grade! February 21, 2010
Posted by 3rdgradewts in : Uncategorized , comments closedMarch is quickly approaching and soon the students will be taking their DSTP tests on March 10th, 11th, 15th, and 16th. During the last few weeks the students have been working hard on DSTP review packets. We are happy to see that most of the students are returning their packets in weekly.
We hope everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing our students in the New Year “2010″! School resumes on Monday, January 4th, 2010.
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We are off on Wednesday, 11/25 , Thursday, 11/26, and Friday, 11/27. Classes will resume classes on Monday, 11/30/09.
Our Parent Curriculum Day/Character Book Day was another successful event! We want to thank all the parents who were able to stop by and visit their child’s classroom. Don’t forget that students have early dismissal (12:42 p.m.) during Parent Conferences which are on November 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th.
Our Parents Math Training was also a success! We want to thank the parents who were able to join us.
